About us

Hello! Welcome to Knitting4Fun. We’re the UK’s largest independent retailer of KnitPro needles, hooks and accessories. Here you can find out a little bit more about us, our history and our plans for the future.

Our beginnings

Knitting4Fun was started in 2010 by Bev Beattie, following Bev’s lifelong love for knitting and wool. Bev learned to felt wool and launched her book, “Knit and Felt Bags” in 2009. Following this she had a few spots on TV craft shows and took her passion for felt to yarn shows. Her husband Tom was then pulled along for the ride.

Now Bev and Tom have moved onto a well-earned retirement, and we wish them all the best. We know many of you have met the pair of them at shows in the past and will miss them as much as we will.

The business is now run by their friend Carole Greaves. Carole is also a lifelong knitter, and for five years ran a local yarn shop in the Derbyshire town of Glossop. Skeins has now closed. If you tried to access that website and got redirected here, now you know why!

Carole also hosts three popular yarn shows – Bakewell Wool Gathering, Buxton Wool Gathering and Cumbrian Wool Gathering. You’ll see her at those shows where you’ll also be able to buy from Knitting4Fun.

Knitting4Fun no longer focusses on felting, but we’ll have some bargains available at shows while we clear out our yarn stash. For now we’re expanding our range of needles and accessories. Keep your eyes peeled as we add new brands in the near future. We also attend yarn shows so if you want to meet us in person, you can find us at one of these upcoming events.
