Gift guide

Welcome to our gift guide!

If you’re here, it’s probably because you need to buy a gift for somebody you love who knits or crochets. And you’re here because you don’t know what to get for them. Do you get them some wool? Some more needles? How are you supposed to know what they want!

We’ve put this guide together to help you out. Below you can find ideas grouped by category and price for at-a-glance choices.

What kind of gift should you buy?

If the person you’re buying for is relatively new to the craft they might not have many tools yet. They may be slowly expanding their collection and will be delighted to have more of them.

More experienced crafters have probably collected a lot of tools over the years. They might like to upgrade from what they’re currently using, or they could be very happy with what they have.

Knitters and crocheters can be picky, and rightly so. What you work with makes a huge amount of difference to your comfort and output. Everybody has their own personal preferences.

We’d recommend looking at what they already use. Is it wood or metal? Then choose something in the same material. Plastic? We guarantee they’ll be delighted at something a little more modern like the KnitPro range.

The same goes with what kind of tool they’re using. There’s no point buying something that they won’t use. They might prefer double pointed needles over fixed circulars – and we know if you’re not a knitter that means nothing!

If this is very overwhelming and hasn’t helped, don’t panic. We recommend choosing accessories instead. There’s a variety of lovely and helpful extras that you don’t need to be an expert to choose from.

Gifts by type

Gift sets and cards

Here’s a shortcut in our gift guide: two categories that make selecting a gift super simple!

  • Gift sets are either special, limited edition sets from KnitPro, or accessory sets we’ve packaged together.
  • Gift cards can be sent electronically or by post, for any amount you like.

We know some people think gift cards are a cop out, but who doesn’t like having money to spend on things they love?

Accessories

Accessories tend to work for both knitters and crocheters. They range in price from extremely low in price to some lovely upscale items.

Cases and bags

If there’s one thing everybody wants, it’s more storage! These are some stylish ideas for storing knitting needles or carrying projects around.

Knitting needles

Knitting needle sets take the worry out of getting the wrong size, as they contain a range of gauges for almost any project. These ranges are some popular options to make a wonderful upgrade from more basic needles.

Crochet sets

Crocheters can be a little neglected, but there are still some great sets available that provide a range of hooks.
